One man is in hospital and two men have been charged with aggravated assault following an incident at the Samson First Nation community on Wednesday.
Maskwacis RCMP said that shortly after 10:30 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at a home in the community. Police stopped two men from continuing to assault a 38-year-old man.
The victim was taken to the Wetaskiwin General Hospital, then airlifted to an Edmonton hospital.
Two men have been arrested and charged with aggravated assault. They are to appear at Wetaskiwin provincial court next week.
Police believe alcohol was a factor.
Police also say none of the men are associated to any known gangs in the area.
