Pedestrian hit by vehicle in critical but stable condition

A pedestrian crossing 67th Street on Friday afternoon was hit by a vehicle and is now in critical but stable condition.

A pedestrian crossing 67th Street on Friday afternoon was hit by a vehicle and is now in critical but stable condition.

Red Deer RCMP responded to the vehicle-pedestrian collision at the intersection of 67th Street and 58th Avenue around 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The 18-year-old female pedestrian was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by a 19-year-old female.

The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was transported to Red Deer Regional Hospital and then airlifted by STARS air ambulance to the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton.

Police continue to investigate the incident. Neither alcohol or drugs are believed to be factors in the collision.
