Pedestrian’s condition stable

The man injured in a vehicle-pedestrian collision early on Wednesday afternoon is now in stable condition, police say.

The pedestrian was taken to the Red Deer Regional Hospital shortly after 12:30 p.m. when the incident occurred on Bennett Street at Baker Avenue on the south side of Bower Place Shopping Centre. He was later flown by STARS to Calgary Foothills Hospital due to his injuries.

RCMP confirmed Thursday morning that his condition has stabilized and his injuries are not life-threatening.

Police initially stated the collision happened in the Bower Place parking lot in front of Shoppers Drug Mart but have corrected that now.

RCMP continue to investigate and are looking for witnesses to the collision. Anyone with more information is asked to call 403-343-5575.
