Alberta Health Services is keeping pediatric immunization walk-in clinics open longer in Central Zone to make it easier for families to get their children vaccinated.

Beginning Wednesday and until March 16, Red Deer’s AHS vaccination clinic will stay open weekday evenings from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. to accommodate pediatric walk-ins and appointments from families with children aged five to 11.

To find other AHS clinics with extended hours and walk-in appointments, visit: www.ahs.ca/vaccine.

Pharmacies with extended hours and experience vaccinating children will also administer pediatric vaccine to children. To find a pharmacy offering COVID-19 vaccinations for children, visit ab.bluecross.ca.

Parents and guardians can continue to book appointments for children age five and older online by using the Alberta vaccine booking system or by calling 811.

Parents or guardians are asked to bring their child’s Alberta Health Care card if they have one as well as identification that proves the child’s age. Both parents and children age two and older will be required to wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer when visiting the site for your immunization.

If a parent or guardian cannot be in attendance for the appointment and the child is under 18 years of age, a consent form can be signed and provided.

Those experiencing symptoms, should stay home and arrange for COVID-19 testing through AHS.ca or by calling 811.
