Penhold has two new defibrillators thanks to Canadian Pacific Rail.

The “CP Has Heart” program helped fund two additional AED that will be placed in high traffic areas for the public. One is at the RV park and the other is at the IGA.

The town now has seven AED machines placed at strategic locations.

“Three key things have a positive impact during a sudden cardiac arrest. Calling 911, high-quality CPR, and immediate access and use of an AED,” said Lieutenant Justin Graham.

“Registering the AED with the Alberta Health Services heart-safe site allows 911 dispatchers access its location to pass that along to those who are calling 911.”
