The Town of Penhold will start construction in May on a new Multi-Use All-Wheel Park.
The project is being built in partnership with The Penhold and District Optimist Club and is expected to be completed by the fall of 2021.
“The collaborative project will bring a modified version of the long-anticipated skate park along with a pump track feature to create a Multi-Use All-Wheel Park (MAP) south of the Penhold Regional Multiplex,” said Penhold Mayor Mike Yargeau.
“This could not have become a reality without the Penhold & District Optimist and their continued commitment to fundraising and advocacy for the project.”
A Pump Track is a closed-loop track with rolling bumps, banked corners and berms (swoopy, banked turns) for biking, rollerblading and scooters.
They are designed to maximize momentum so users can ride the pump track with minimal exertion. Pump tracks are a perfect structure for practising balance, learning skills and improving confidence.
The skate park portion of the Penhold MAP will include seven key features, including a bank ramp, slappy rail, manual pad, flat rail, flat ledge, quarter pipe extension and quarter pipe transition.
