The Town of Penhold will proceed with major trail development and furnishings.
Council recently gave the green light to proceed with the Active Transportation Project at the lands south of the Penhold Regional Multiplex.
Council requested administration to move funds from the town’s reserves for the purpose of developing trails throughout town. The funds committed from the Federal Government, in the amount of $915,077, and the town’s commitment of $610,000 will permit new development exceeding $1.5 million.
This project, which is slated to move forward in 2023, consists of connectivity and expansion of trails, including footbridge, lighting, boat dock and aeration for the ponds.
The town will be developing a number of new trails, with enhancements to the current trails in town. The recreational area at the Regional Multiplex will see additional amenities which will complete the development of the area.
