The Annie L. Gaetz Grades 1-3 choir pull the chains on their pretend whistles as they perform the song This Train at Living Stones Church during the Red Deer Festival of the Performing Arts opening day Tuesday. Nearly 6,000 participants in categories ranging from band, musical theatre and vocals to numerous individual instruments vied for honours this week at the college and Living Stones Church. The 48th annual festival’s Showcase of Champions will be held May 7 at 2 p.m. at Living Stones Church.
