Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 6 months to under 5 years will be available starting Nov. 14, Alberta Health has announced.
The booking of appointments and administration of this vaccine will both begin on the same day.
The Pfizer vaccine is a three-dose schedule, and the currently available Moderna vaccine is a two-dose schedule. They cannot be offered as a mixed series.
Appointments can be booked through the Alberta Vaccine Booking System at bookvaccine.alberta.ca or by calling Health Link at 811. Informed consent is required from a parent or guardian.
As with all pediatric immunization for this age group, Alberta Health Services will administer doses.
