Singer-songwriter and Red Deer native Marla Torgerson entertained an appreciative crowd in the city’s Anders neighbourhood.
The musician, who now lives in Calgary, is taking bookings to come and sing in the streets to meet distance requirements while providing live entertainment.
After reading about Torgerson in the Advocate, Anders resident Lorna Watkinson-Zimmer was struck by her enthusiasm and love of music.
“She said she would perform for streets, (for) health care, etc. She was hired for our Anquetel Close.
”We invited people around the area and our numbers were impressive. We kept a good distance,” said Watkinson-Zimmer.
”It was a huge success.”
