Red Deer RCMP was at the scene of a single-vehicle crash that totalled a bus shelter on Ross Street, just west of Clearview Meadows on Tuesday morning.

Red Deer RCMP were called at about 8:20 a.m. to the collision, near Michener Ave.

A car had been travelling westbound on Ross (50th) Street when the motorist braked and swerved to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of her, which was travelling in the same direction.

The swerving car jumped the curb and struck an unoccupied bus shelter.

No one was injured in the collision and no charges have been laid.

Speed is not believed to be a factor.

But Red Deer RCMP want to remind motorists to give themselves extra space to stop and to drive safely according to winter road conditions.
