The Red Deer Sport Award Committee unveiled a new display for Lifetime Sport Achievement Award winners Wednesday at Servus Arena.

The display was built at the arena during the COVID-19 pandemic and shows the winners of the award dating back to the 1950s.

The award is handed out annually and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to volunteerism and sport leadership and have also made significant contributions to the growth and development of sport in Red Deer.

Heather Roberts was given the award in 2021 and Shawna Pearman was the 2020 winner, both of whom were on hand to receive plaques celebrating their work.
