Walk supports efforts to end rape, sexual assault and gender violence

More than 100 participants took part in the eighth annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event Thursday.

Organized by The Outreach Centre, the annual walk supports efforts to end rape, sexual assault and gender violence.

Red Deer Advocate multimedia sales consultants Vadim Kheyfets and Shayne Court were among the participants.

It was Court’s second time participating in the event.

“It’s for a really good cause. It’s just a great way to show our support for women,” he said.

Kheyfets added: “I think it’s good to be a part of the community and show your appreciation for this cause.”

New this year was a pancake breakfast, a barbecue lunch, live entertainment and family fun.

The goal of this year’s event is to raise $75,000.
