Family Services of Central Alberta held its annual Juke Box Mania event on March 23 at Westerner Park’s Harvest Centre in Red Deer.

The musical event is described as a Name that Tune game that challenges players to name musical artists, movie jingles, television shows, and various songs from every musical genre in a fun, relaxed and party-like atmosphere.

Contestants register either in teams of eight or purchase tickets individually. Players who purchase individual tickets are grouped into a team of eight. Sound clips are played in a specified musical category and players scramble to figure out the answers.

Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favourite entertainers and at the end of the game, one team goes home with bragging rights, some nifty gifts and the Opus Award. Prizes are also given out for best costume and other hidden talents.

This year, the Zed99 Juke Box Heroes and The Blazing Maddogs were named the winners of the third-annual Juke Box Mania.
