Anna Sheridan, left, the Central Alberta Women’s Emergency Shelter volunteer co-ordinator, and shelter fundraiser Tara Heppel ready poinsettias for sale at Bower Place Shopping Centre Wednesday. This is the second year the shelter has sold the flowers to benefit the 1-888-346-5643 crisis help line it operates. The flowers are $15, $25 or $30 depending on size and are available at the mall until Dec. 19th. “The economy has made it very tough for people and there are a lot of stress factors and we’ve seen about a 10-per-cent increase in our client numbers over last year,” said Heppel.
