Police arrest man in Blackfalds shop arson

A man was arrested after a shop near Blackfalds was set on fire.

Friday afternoon, Blackfalds RCMP were called to a suspected arson at a rural residence outside of Blackfalds. The fire was reported to be in a shop area of the residence.

Police arrived on scene and arrested one male in relation to the fire.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire and damage was limited to one area of the shop. No one was injured and the investigation into the matter continues.

Charges are pending against the man.
