An Innisfail woman killed in a bomb blast was targeted by her killer, police say.

Victoria Shachtay, 23, died on Friday after a package delivered to her home exploded.

RCMP investigators confirmed on Tuesday that it was a targeted murder. An autopsy on Monday confirmed the homicide.

Police said that in order to protect the integrity of the investigation, they are not releasing how they determined the victim was targeted.

There are no suspects and no arrests have been made.

The scene is still being held by RCMP, but it is expected to be released sometime later Tuesday.

The RCMP remind the public to still be aware of any unanticipated hand-delivered packages. This is not to indicate that anyone else is in danger but is a precaution the public should consider.

The investigation continues, conducted by RCMP Major Crimes personnel, Innisfail detachment members and RCMP specialized units.

The identify of the victim was also positively confirmed by the medical examiner. Next of kin notification has been completed.

RCMP investigators ask that anyone who believes they may have information in relation to the explosion contact Innisfail RCMP or Crime Stoppers if anonymity is a concern.
