A central Alberta man who was recently reported missing is dead, says Didsbury RCMP.
Last week, police put of an alert asking the public to located Ryan Sutherland, 44, who had not been seen for a few days.
On Monday, police advised the public human remains, believed to be those of Sutherland, were located the day prior.
Just after noon, search and rescue located the remains in a wooded area. The circumstances surrounding the death remains under investigation by Southern Alberta Serious Crimes Branch.
“Our sincerest condolences go out to Ryan’s family and friends,” Didsbury RCMP said.
An autopsy has been ordered by the office of the Chief Medical Examiner and is scheduled for Sunday.
Police said an update will be provided when further details can be released.
