An incident in Red Deer’s Normandeau neighbourhood earlier this week ended when police found a man deceased in a residence.
Police were called to a residence at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday in response to a report of a man with a firearm. No threat was made to the public and the man was the sole occupant of the residence at the time.
RCMP was assisted by an Emergency Response Team (ERT) from Edmonton in containing the area and evacuating nearby residences as a safety precaution. Roads in the area were closed for about seven hours.
At approximately 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, ERT entered the residence and located a deceased male.
Red Deer RCMP said the investigation has been concluded and will not be releasing further details.
