Police investigating homicide at O’Chiese First Nation Reserve

Rocky Mountain House RCMP and EMS responded to a call of an unconscious male outside a residence on the reserve at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

When they arrived, police and paramedics found a deceased man covered in blankets and a rug.

An autopsy, which was completed in Calgary by the Provincial Medical Examiner on Monday ruled homicide as the cause of death.

The deceased male has been identified as Gordon Marlice Strawberry, 45, of the O’Chiese First Nation Reserve.

The preliminary investigation has determined that Strawberry was at a house party on the reserve, at which he suffered an injury after becoming involved in an altercation.
