VULCAN — RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for a woman alleged to have abducted her two daughters in southern Alberta and who may be heading to Saskatchewan or British Columbia with them.

Mounties are on the lookout for Trina Marie Meisel, 48, who does not have legal guardianship of the children.

Police say Telisha and Taya Meisel might have snuck out of school in Brandt near Vulcan, Alta., on Monday and met up with their biological mother.

Telisha, who is 12, is described as having long, blond wavy hair; she was wearing a turquoise sweater, a grey striped T-shirt and blue jeans.

Six-year-old Taya also has long, blond wavy hair and was wearing prescription glasses.

Investigators believe the mother and two girls may be travelling in a 2007 black Honda CRV with Alberta licence plate ORNRSE.

RCMP do not believe the girls are in immediate danger, but ask anyone with knowledge of their whereabouts to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
