Police are searching for a young male who went from being an online acquaintance to an alleged home invader in Red Deer.

Two women were expecting a visitor to their Riverside Meadows residence on Nov. 19 after making brief online arrangements to meet man they didn’t previously know.

Shortly after arriving, the male allegedly pushed the women aside and went through the house on Kerry Wood Drive demanding drugs and cash. He allegedly stole a white iPhone with a pink cover, a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone with a blue back and white front, and a small amount of cash before leaving the residence.

Red Deer RCMP officers responded to the complaint of a home invasion at about 8:45 p.m. They searched for the suspect, last seen running north on Kerry Wood Drive toward Taylor Drive, but couldn’t find him.

The two women were not injured during the incident, and later worked with a police sketch artist to develop a composite drawing of the suspect.

He is described as being Caucasian in his 20s with a tan. He spoke witha French accent. He is about 1.67 metres (five-foot-six) tall, 77 kg (170 pounds), with spiked-up dark hair. He was wearing a red hoodie with a black symbol, blue jeans and skate shoes.
