Police searching for gun theft suspect

Thief pretended to be potential buyer, says police

Red Deer RCMP are requesting assistance in identifying a female person of interest in relation to a theft of a restricted firearm from a residence.

The offence occurred in October 2019 when the owner of the firearm met with a potential buyer for the purposes of a private sale. The firearm was stolen and the individual fled the scene after the owner asked to see the buyer’s Purchase and Acquisition Licence (PAL). In November, the firearm was recovered by police in an abandoned stolen vehicle.

The woman is described as : Caucasian, 19 to 20 years old, about five-foot-eight (1.73 m) and 115 pounds (52 kg). She was wearing a black bandana and may use the first name “Hanna.”
