Police seek 3 suspects after robbery and assault near Red Deer’s Bower Ponds

Red Deer RCMP is hoping for public assistance to identify three suspects involved in an assault and robbery.

On Jan. 18, a man who was carrying a hockey stick and equipment, was assaulted and robbed on the Kerrywood Drive walking path near Overdown Drive.

One of the suspects then lit the victim’s clothing on fire before the suspects fled southbound, towards Bower Ponds. The victim was able to smother the flames and suffered minor injuries.

Suspects descriptions are limited, but the first suspect is described as a male with darker complexion, wearing a balaclava. The second suspect is described as a male wearing a balaclava with a pompom on top, darker grey snowboard jacket, jeans, and beige boots in a similar style to Timberlands. The third suspect was also believed to be a male wearing a balaclava.
