Police seek driver of stolen vehicle

Red Deer City RCMP are searching for the driver of a stolen vehicle that hit two police cars during a traffic stop on Thursday night.

Police say officers spotted a stolen truck in the downtown and initiated a traffic stop in the Fairview neighbourhood around 8:15 p.m.

The suspect stopped for police, then reversed into the front grill of the police car.

When the truck fled the scene it collided with another police cruiser and a parked vehicle on the side of the road.

The vehicle and its four passengers drove off, heading out of the city.

The driver in the stolen Ford F-350 truck was described as aboriginal, about 20 years old, with long curly hair.
