Ponoka police arrest man on Canada-wide warrant

A member of the Ponoka RCMP detachment responded to a complaint of a suspicious male on a rural property Monday at approximately 2:25 a.m.

A member of the Ponoka RCMP detachment responded to a complaint of a suspicious male on a rural property Monday at approximately 2:25 a.m.

RCMP members located an adult male who provided a false name. Further investigation revealed the true identity of the male as 25-year-old Collin James Courteoreille from Spruce Grove.

It was determined he was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for parole violation.

Courteoreille has also been charged with one count of obstructing police and one count of identity fraud. He will appear in court in Ponoka on May 24.
