Ponoka RCMP have arrested a pair of suspects after a robbery over the weekend.
The two suspects in their 20s entered a residence on Saturday and assaulted the occupant of the residence with a baseball bat. They stole a small amount of money, along with some electronics equipment, police said in a news release. The victim, who was later transported to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, was able to flee the residence and go to a neighbour’s house and call 911.
The two male suspects then fled the residence in a small SUV.
The suspects were located at a residence on the Montana First Nation and were taken into custody without incident. Both individuals are currently in custody and awaiting court appearances.
