Ponoka RCMP have arrested a man who was wanted on several warrants.

Caleb Joseph Shimwell, who was wanted on 21 charges in Ponoka, one arrest warrant out of Wetaskiwin and three warrants out of Lacombe, was arrested Tuesday.

Shimwell was arrested June 20 following an investigation conducted by Wetaskiwin and Ponoka RCMP on a series of break-ins. He failed to attend a court appearance.

Currently, Shimwell is facing two charges for failing to attend court, five for failing to comply with a probation order and five for failing to comply with recognizance, along with his substantive charges.

Shimwell remains in custody and will appear in Ponoka, Red Deer and Wetaskiwin courts via closed-circuit TV on Friday.
