Ponoka RCMP is investigating a reported hit and run from this past week.

On Wednesday, Nov. 30, police responded to a report of a hit and run collision in Ponoka involving a SUV. Twenty minutes later, police received an additional report of a hit and run involving what is believed to be the same suspect vehicle.

Witnesses stated they saw two suspects flee the site of the collision on foot. RCMP located a damaged SUV 2015 Jeep Cherokee SUV at the scene. A search of the vehicle revealed a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine. Police also located and seized a loaded .22 calibre handgun and ammunition.

Ponoka RCMP continue to investigate this incident with the help of the Ponoka RCMP General Investigative Section, RCMP Traffic Services and the Alberta Sheriff’s.
