Stettler RCMP arrested a man for stealing a poppy fund box from a local Tim Hortons outlet on Remembrance Day.

After examining video surveillance footage from the restaurant, a 27-year-old local man was identified as being responsible. He was later arrested for an unrelated matter, charged with theft under $5,000, and will appear in Stettler provincial court on Dec. 8.

The poppy pins that commemorate war veterans and fallen soldiers on Nov. 11 are sold as a fundraiser for Royal Canadian Legions.
