Work was still underway on Wednesday afternoon to restore full power to Bower Plaza.

The strip mall just south of Bower Mall has been without power since Tuesday morning because of an electrical fire.

Red Deer Emergency Services reponded about 7:15 a.m. to the fire, which started in electrical room in the rear of the mall.

Fire prevention officer Bob Boudreau said no one was injured in the fire. A damage estimate was not available.

Boudreau said some temporary power had been restored on Wednesday.

Most of the businesses remained closed. A sign on Tim Hortons said it expected to open at 8 a.m. on Thursday. Pet Valu also had a sign saying it would be open again on Thursday. Dragon City Buffet was open on Wednesday afternoon.
