Premier to attend Red Deer Remembrance Day ceremony

Premier Alison Redford will attend a Remembrance Day service on Wednesday at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School.

The premier will speak as part of Thurber Serves . . . Thurber Remembers, a multi-media presentation featuring 135 art, band, choir and drama students in the school’s main gym starting at 12:30 p.m.

The keynote address to the school’s 1,800 students and invited guests, including veterans, will be by Drew Adkins, an army reserve master corporal who works as an emergency medical technician in Lacombe.

Adkins served a seven-month tour in Afghanistan and a six-month tour in the Golan Heights on the Israeli-Syrian border.
