Probable measles exposure case includes Red Deer-area elementary school

Alberta Health Services officials will provide more information Friday on what they are calling a new “probable” case of measles in the Central Zone.

Alberta Health Services officials will provide more information Friday on what they are calling a new “probable” case of measles in the Central Zone.

According to a release, there are multiple exposure sites relating to the probable case, including a “Red Deer-area elementary school.” The case is not travel-related.

The release states that several details relating to the case are still being confirmed.

There have been nine confirmed measles cases in the province this year. Three have been in the Central Zone, which stretches from Sundre to Lloydminster.
