A group of volunteers is appealing to Albertans to take part in a province-wide mask clean-up this weekend.
A Facebook event called ‘Community Mask Clean Up’ is set for Sunday at 4 p.m. The initiative asks people to meet-up at a common location such as your city, town or village office.
The group also asks for volunteers to keep track of how many masks they collect so a final tally can be taken.
“This group’s primary intention is to bring attention to a newly formed issue with pollution caused by the mask-wearing mandate province-wide,” a post in the group reads.
“In a time where family and friends are divided on issues surrounding Covid, let us come together in a peaceful way that shows support for a better tomorrow.”
