Starting Tuesday, the public do not have to wear masks in city facilities.

Masks must still be worn on public transit and city staff will continue to mask up.

The changes follow the province’s announcement that it is moving to Step 2 of its plan to ease public health measures.

Beginning Tuesday, youth screening for activities and sport will no longer be required and capacity and gathering limits will be removed.

The city reminds residents to continue treating each other with kindness and understanding and to remember that everyone will adjust to the changing pandemic conditions and health requirements in different ways.

“We ask the community to show grace and patience as comfort levels may vary.”

Residents are also reminded to stay home if they are unwell or experience infection symptoms. The city will continue to offer a flexible cancellation and refund policy for those who are unable to participate in pre-scheduled programming at recreation and culture facilities.

For refund inquiries, please call 403-309-8411 or email recreation@reddeer.ca.
