QEII collision sends motorcycle rider to hospital

Witnesses say a northbound sedan lost control and struck the cable barrier shortly after 8 p.m. The occupants of the sedan were not injured, but a few moments later a motorcyclist struck the disabled sedan.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the sedan has been charged under the Traffic Safety Act.

Northbound lanes were affected for about one hour while emergency crews cleared the scene.

Police urge motorists to keep sufficient space between moving vehicles.
