Decked out in Calgary Flames fan regalia, Maryview Elementary School principal Ken Griffith is twirled by Stacey McAllister during a school assembly on Thursday. Griffith, a diehard Oilers fan, agreed to the humiliation as part of a deal he made with his students. If they raised $1,500 for McAllister’s school building project in Africa, he would dress in the enemy colours for the day. The students doubled their goal, raising more than $3,000 towards McAllister’s $15,000 total campaign and making it possible to build a complete school in Mampong, Ghana, where she had volunteered with Projects Abroad in 2007.
