Edna Pratt, left, a 94-year-old veteran from Rimbey, salutes while Jodi Smith of Penhold photographs the raising of the new Royal Canadian Air Force ensign by Ray Elphick at the Red Deer Cemetery recently. The rededication of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan cenotaph was sponsored by the 703 (Central Alberta) Airforce Association of Canada. The event helped commemorate the field of honour where 22 veterans of the plan, which trained air force pilots and navigators from Canada, England, New Zealand and Australia killed during and after the Second World War while training at the former Penhold air base, are buried.
