RCMP are investigating the death of missing Red Deer man as a homicide

Red Deer RCMP are investigating a homicide after the body of a 25-year-old missing man was found southeast of the city.

Red Deer RCMP confirmed on Tuesday that Kyler Corriveau was found dead on Sunday. According to police, his body was found in the city’s landfill.

An autopsy was completed, but the cause of death has not yet been determined.

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating the death as a homicide.

On Dec. 21, Red Deer RCMP had asked for the public’s assistance in locating Corriveau. The young man had last been seen on Dec. 15 in Red Deer, near the Dairy Queen on 50 Avenue.

Police were wanting to locate Corriveau to verify his well-being. RCMP had stated that the five-foot-11 man with blonde hair, green eyes and neck tattoos could have medical concerns requiring attention.
