Red Deer RCMP have charged two men who allegedly broke into a gun store in Red Deer County last week.
Police say that on May 19, three unidentified suspects were involved in a break and enter at the store and multiple firearms and other items were stolen from the business.
A 39-year-old man and a 34-year-old man, both from Red Deer face a number of charges. The 39-year-old will appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on May 31 and the 24-year-old will appear on May 27.
Later that day, police discovered the stolen vehicle that was used in the break and enter and they observed two occupants go into a building in the Edgar Industrial area. The Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services were deployed to the building and the two men fled, but were arrested a short time later.
The following day, police executed search warrants at a commercial building on Edgar Industrial Drive, an apartment building in Johnstone Park, and a residence in West Park. As a result of these search warrants, RCMP seized several of the stolen firearms, a stolen vehicle, a utility trailer, and a side-by-side UTV.
According to a release, the investigation is ongoing.
