A Drumheller man has been arrested after fleeing from the police.

Justin Lenfesty, 31, avoided a traffic stop at 7 Ave S.E. on June 20 and fled from RCMP at a high rate of speed through a busy grocery store parking lot.

Lenfesty’s vehicle was located just south of Drumheller on Highway 9, but he had fled on foot nearby. Nearly an hour after the encounter started, he was located with the assistance of police dog services.

He faces the following charges: flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, resist/obstruct peace officer, and failing to comply with a release order condition.

Lenfesty will appear in Drumheller Provincial Court on July 9.
