Hinton RCMP ask people in Sylvan Lake and Lacombe to watch for a parolee wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large.

RCMP ask people in Sylvan Lake and Lacombe to watch for a parolee wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large.

Michael Gosney, 47, was sentenced in 2011 to serve 31 months for offences involving drugs, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.

While his mother lives in Hinton, Gosney has family and friends in both Central Alberta communities and has been known to visit there, says Const. Michael Kublkanski of the Hinton RCMP.

Police have released Gosney’s photo and describe him as 1.8 metres tall (five feet and nine inches) and weighing 81 kg (180 pounds), with brown hair and blue eyes.

People are asked not to approach Gosney, but to report any sightings to local police. Those who wish to remain anonymous can visit Crime Stoppers at www.tipsubmit.com or call 1-800-822-8477.
