RCMP continue to search for vehicle in fatal hit and run

RCMP continue to investigate the hit and run that killed a cyclist south of McKenzie Industrial Park on Range Road 273 on July 6.

Heather Lawrence, 45, of Red Deer, died at the scene after she was struck just south of the traffic circle at 40th Avenue (RR 273) and McKenzie Road at about 6:45 p.m.

Blackfalds RCMP and RCMP Central Alberta District GIS Unit continue to receive tips from the public, but the suspect vehicle has not yet been identified.

An updated description of the vehicle has been made available.

The vehicle is described as:

• A dark coloured, older model sedan.

• Low-end after market rims.

• A poor quality, do-it-yourself paint job, dark grey or black matte.

• Significant front-end damage, specifically to the windshield.
