Const. Sabrina Grunow of city RCMP said the incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Bennett Street in the Bower subdivision. He fled on foot after jumping out of the taxi.

The man was picked up near a bank at 22nd Street in the 5100 block.

Police meanwhile, are still hunting for a man who stabbed a cabbie about 5:50 a.m. on Wednesday.
