A Bowden man has been charged with first degree murder in connection to the death of a woman whose body was found Monday night.

A 25-year-old woman was found dead in a Bowden apartment building Monday. An autopsy determined it was a homicide.

RCMP said the victim and accused were known to each other.

The name of the woman is not being released, and the RCMP requests, on behalf of the family of the victim, to afford them privacy during this difficult time.

Ross Arran McInnes, 27, was arrested at the scene on Monday and has been charged with first degree murder.

After a Judicial hearing, McInnes was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear on March 29 in Didsbury Provincial Court.

No further information will be released by the police as these matters are now before the courts.
