RCMP investigating two deaths after North Battleford house fire

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. — RCMP in North Battleford, Sask., say they’re investigating the deaths of two people following a house fire on Christmas Eve.

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. — RCMP in North Battleford, Sask., say they’re investigating the deaths of two people following a house fire on Christmas Eve.

Police say officers were called to the scene around 4 p.m. and that firefighters were already battling the blaze when they arrived.

They say the two bodies were later discovered during a search of the property.

The bodies have not yet been identified and police say the Saskatchewan Coroners Service is working with them to determine cause of death.

Meanwhile, a provincial fire investigator is working with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency to determine the cause of the fire.
