Red Deer city RCMP are looking for a man who stabbed a stranger several times and tried to rob him on the city’s north side Monday morning.

Police were called out to a report of a stabbing at about 6:20 a.m. in the parking lot of Pineview Manor Apartments at 80 Piper Drive.

A man approached a 48-year-old man and demanded “everything he had,” said police.

The victim refused to hand over anything so the assailant stabbed him several times in the jaw, palm and calf.

The victim was taken to Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre where he was treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The attacker is described as being in his 20s, Caucasian, and medium height. He was wearing dark clothing and a parka with a hood pulled tightly around his face.
