RCMP are searching for four suspects involved in two attempted armed robberies in Didsbury and Olds on Tuesday.

Police also suspect them of stealing vehicles in Airdrie and Sundre.

RCMP said on Monday night or early Tuesday morning, a Ford F450 flatbed truck was stolen from a compound in Airdrie.

At about 5:30 a.m., a passenger from the stolen vehicle attempted to rob a gas station in Didsbury. The male suspect showed a weapon to the gas station attendant, but left empty handed.

At 6:15 a.m., police believe the same suspect entered a gas station in Olds, showed a weapon to the gas station attendant, and again left empty handed. The vehicle was last seen travelling northbound.

The stolen vehicle was later found in a field in a rural area southeast of Sundre and where RCMP believed the suspects stole two more vehicles — a SUV, and a white 2007 Dodge one-ton pickup truck equipped with a bail handler.

The SUV has since been recovered in the Rocky Mountain House area.

In Hanna, two of the suspects were spotted entering a grocery store at 10:30 a.m. One suspect left with a grocery cart full of goods and got into a white 2007 Dodge one-ton pickup truck.

The vehicle was last seen leaving the grocery store and heading north.

RCMP consider the suspects armed and dangerous and warn people not to approach them.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects should call the Didsbury RCMP at 403-335-3382, their local RCMP detachment, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
