Red Deer RCMP are searching for a man who assaulted a woman and tried to rob her in a Deer Park alley on Wednesday morning.

Police say a man pulled a knife on the victim in an alley driveway behind a residence in the neighbourhood around 8 a.m. The suspect approached the victim on foot, pulled a knife and demanded valuables from her vehicle. The woman fought the suspect off and suffered minor scratches. The man fled without any of the woman’s property.

The suspect is described as 1.8 metres (six feet) in height, dark skinned and clean shaven with short black hair. He had a deep voice and spoke with a slight stutter. He wore a black chest tattoo that was visible at the neck of his T-shirt.
