RCMP are asking Olds and Sundre residents to check their home surveillance cameras to see if they caught images of vehicles connected to a home invasion in Sundre.

Sundre RCMP said they got a report of a home invasion on Wednesday about 11:50 a.m. Police said three suspects armed with weapons forced their way into a home in Sundre Mobile Estates.

The two occupants, a man and a woman, were robbed of their possessions, including a pellet pistol and pellet rifle. They were not harmed.

The suspects then fled from the residence in a black 2016 Hyundai Elantra stolen from the victims.

At 12:10 p.m., Olds RCMP officers located the stolen vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 27 towards Olds.

Police found the vehicle abandoned near a restaurant in the area of 50th Avenue and 46th Street in Olds.

The area was contained while an RCMP dog unit and Emergency Response Team were brought in. However, the suspects managed to flee the area in a second vehicle.

A shotgun, knife, and the stolen pellet rifle were recovered in the stolen vehicle.

Investigators checking surveillance video near the site of the home invasion found images of a silver F-150 arriving just prior to the home invasion. The same pickup left with the stolen Hyundai.
